Business Development Intern

we are looking for our corporate office in Troy


  • The Business Development Intern support specific business development initiatives that aim to grow new business opportunities for the division in medium and long term basis. Job duties include supporting competitor products benchmarking from a technical and cost standpoint, comparing the current technology of the division to the emerging technology trends in the market and identify gaps and opportunities, understanding the overall market trends and help identify new emerging market space for new future products for the division. Leads specific projects assigned that will require collaboration with multiple cross functional group within the division and report progress with actional items and timelines, including collaborating with outside suppliers on selected projects.
  • By fulfilling the tasks assigned the intern will understands the market needs and support the business development initiatives with the goal of uncovering new future growth areas. By leading specific projects from benchmarking to cost reduction initiatives, from start to finish, the intern will gain understanding on taking ideas to tangible results in a collaborative environment
  • The candidate must have strong communication, technical aptitude, analytical, research, and computer skills.
  • Market understanding by completing and analyzing competitor products and identifying technology gaps to overcome. Create reverse cost estimations for the benchmarked products
  • Research emerging new market trends that favor specific technologies and identify the market needs to fulfill the best solution to bring to market in the future
  • Lead specific assignments and workshops with collaboration from cross functional teams within the division, and track and maintain clear action items list and timeline targets to complete the overall goal of the assignment
  • Understanding potential technology limitations with suppliers and develop new ideas to help overcome such limitations or gaps
  • Support business development manager to create cost estimations for new quotations
  • Gain an understanding on how pricing for a new product or quotation is created by analyzing the market and maximizing the pricing power


Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in related Major. Sophomore or higher class standing
